When it comes to metro stations, Moscow does things right! The metro began operating in 1935 with a single 11 kilometre line connecting 13 stations. Since then however, it has grown into the world’s fourth busiest transit system, spanning more than 300 kilometres and offering 188 stops.
Built under the command of Stalin, the iron-fisted leader demanded that the metro’s artists and architects designed a structure that embodied soviet brilliance. We think they did a great job!
