Do you have a head for heights? Looking for a new way to boost your adrenaline? Then why not try El Caminito Del Ray, the scariest walkway in the world!
The walkway was originally built for workers at the Chorro Falls and Gainanejo Falls hydroelectric power plants to get between the two plants easily way back in 1905. Today the walkway is in much need of repair, many parts of the concrete walkway have collapsed leaving just the steel beams in place.
Several people lost their lives on the walkway and after accidents in 1999 and 2000 the walkway was closed. However, those determined enough could still get in by climbing over the barriers that were put in place.
In 2014 the walkway reopened after some restoration work was carried out at the cost of nine million euros. If you have a head for heights…why not give this a try?
